Kuchi-kanbayashi River Festival
Date / 1/1/1970
The cheers of children resonate under swaying carp streamers at this river festival in the Kuchi-kanbayashi district.
The venue is reached by ferry.
In addition to events like a log-sawing competition and band performances, there are temporary shops selling local specialties such as rice with sweetfish and heshiko-zushi (sushi rice topped with heshiko, salted mackerel in rice-bran paste).
The most popular attractions are sweetfish and eel grabbing contests.
Children splash around and have the time of their lives.
